Andy Wirth, President and CEO of Squaw Valley Ski Holdings, has been elected to be Chairman and President of Reno-Tahoe Regional Air Service Corporation. This corporation is responsible for promoting air service into the Reno-Tahoe airport.
Andy Wirth has interest in a vacation resort so this position is a natural for him. Wirth feels that continued growth in the air service industry will help the economy and tourism continue to thrive. He is experienced for this new position, developing airports and air services in cities from Colorado to Quebec.
Two other businessmen experienced in tourism has been elected to positions within RASC. The goal of the RASC is to bring different organizations, private and public, together to draw business to the Reno-Lake Tahoe-Northern Nevada region. They work to increase flights into the area and out of the area to make it a more attractive tourist destination.

Wirth has a family tradition of working in the nature and tourism industry and over 25 years of experience in the ski resort industry. He is the grandson of former US National Park Service Director Conrad Wirth, so he understands the importance of conserving nature. He began his career in the resort industry in 1986 with Steamboat Springs Resort.
He supports many environmental and community organizations. He supports the local Humane Society and Girls on the Run, as well as, he has served on the board of a number of community organizations.
Andy Wirth continues to work towards advancing the local economy and improving his community and conserving the environment. He recently gave the commencement speech at the University of Colorado.
